The fluid swivel joint for hollow glass systems is one of the few that does not transfer hydraulic oil. The fluids transferred are generally air, vacuum and water. The materials which are primarily used to make these swivel joints are stainless steel and aluminium alloy. They are usually large and have low pressure passages but with significant fluid capacity.

They generally operate in a horizontal position and are therefore guided by bearings. The following are a few examples:
